Are you ready for the pain?
Last night, The Hulk (dressed here in Superman pajamas) started playing with Superman (seen here in khakis), hanging onto his leg as he walked around. Superman started trash talking, getting ready to wrestle with him.
"Are you ready for the PAIN?!" he asked.
"Uh, wait a minute," The Hulk said. I thought this was a stall tactic, the Hulk rethinking his decision to wrestle. Often, playtime with Daddy does end in pain.
"My phone is ringing in my pocket," he said.
(What?)
"The person on the phone said that I was supposed to give you the pain!"
This kid never ceases to make me laugh!

Magical Mommy Powers ARE REAL. Also, a birthday.
Here's a post I started nearly a year ago:
Last week was a bad week for the Hulk.
He had F I V E accidents. One involving #2.
The first one kind of slid by me. I didn't realize anything had happened until he changed his clothes. He received his punishment: no video games the next day. (He had already played that day.) The next one happened the same day at dinner. He simply waited too long. I didn't administer an additional punishment because he was already not going to play games the next day. I couldn't take away computer time because we already don't have that for the kids right now. (Basement is still under construction and Superman's work laptop is off-limits to the kids.) And I couldn't take away TV because we were in the middle of the monsoon and he would have nothing to do all day. So......I didn't know what to do.
In desperation, I told him that if he had any more accidents, I would use my magical mommy powers to move his birthday. For every accident he had till his birthday (one week away), I would move it back an additional day.
Guess who had a week with no accidents?
Magical mommy powers WORK, people.
The Hulk's birthday arrived right on schedule.
And now (2012), since I never posted pictures from his birthday LAST MAY, I give you:
THE HULK'S FIFTH BIRTHDAY:
My boy is five! (Well, now he's 5 and three quarters.) He still loves Star Wars, but is transitioning to Legos and superheroes in general. I wonder where he gets it........

THE HULK'S FIFTH BIRTHDAY:
The Hulk still loves Star Wars, so he got a(nother) light saber.
This one lights up and has sounds. He's a fan.
My attempt at Star Wars lettering on his cake. I forgot that the letters are supposed to be hollow.
He also got some Star Wars ships that are also transformers, and TONS of Star Wars figures. (Thank you, KSL!)
The Hulk's party was low-key this year after last year's Star Wars party that was INSANE.
The only thing Hulkster asked for was a pinata. (This motorcycle one, specifically. So glad I didn't have to make it again.)
Then we opened presents. I'm not sure what this present was, but apparently Superman thought it was really cool, too.
I think this was more Star Wars figures.
Cupcakes are much preferred at birthday parties. And this time I remembered the hollow lettering.

Top o' the mornin' to ya!
That's how I greeted my husband this morning.
I'm in a total Irish state of mind.
I've been listening to an "Irish Traditional" station on Pandora and jigging the day away. Every now and then I speak to the kids in an Irish accent, but stop when it starts to sounds like a pirate. (Am I the only one who blends those two?)
I spent 20 minutes on Youtube last night, watching River Dance and anything Michael Flatley. "His feet fly about as if independent from his body!"
The background on my phone has a rainbow on it.
I'm looking forward to watching P.S. I Love You tonight while folding the 5 loads of laundry I pushed through today.
Tomorrow's menu consists of pancakes in the shape of shamrocks and scrambled eggs, both dyed green. For dinner: Baked POTATO soup. Forget the corned beef. We're going potato in honor of my Irish ancestors.
(My St. Patrick's Day decor)

Miss Marvel is not one anymore
That's as close as I can come to *actually* stating her age.
I woke up that morning to the boys' voices, asking if they could get their sister out of bed. (As per usual.) Then they asked if they could blindfold her because they had wrapped presents for her. They wanted her to walk out to the table and be surprised. I wasn't quite sure what presents they were talking about -- most were wrapped already. They told me they had wrapped one of their balls that Miss Marvel loves to play with to give to her.
They wrapped it in printer paper.
She loved it.
Her next present was a baby bed/carrier.
She really loved it after she saw what it was for.
Then we had our traditional birthday breakfast of Orange Danish Rolls.
For some reason, Lil Miss wanted to lick it instead of eat it. I had to tell her to use her teeth.
Then she got really silly and started shaking her head like a crazy person.
The boys had one more present for her.
(Of course, wrapped in printer paper.)
Little People Wonder Woman and Batgirl!!
Showing Daddy her goodies.
She loves them already.
That night we had cupcakes and opened more presents.
My favorite photo of the day.
Trying really hard to shove it all in there!
She got the little chair she's sitting in, and a big, soft Belle doll.
And from the grandparents -- a kitchen!!!! I admit, this is mostly for me. Lil' Miss loves to "help" with the dishes and is always underfoot when I'm cooking dinner. So now she has her own kitchen just feet away from me that occupies her when I need it!
Admittedly, this kind of seems like a lot of presents for a two year old. But I found the most of her presents at a thrift store or online. The baby bed was $1, the Belle was $1 (in mint condition!), and the chair was $2. The kitchen I found on KSL for $25 with tons of food and dishes. The Little People were the only thing I bought full price at $7. (But they were totally worth it!)
And now my baby is two.
There. I said it.
With only one lump in my throat.

Random pictures
This is what my table looks like each day around 4:30. We do homework after piano lessons and before dinner. Miss Marvel insists on doing homework, too.
This is General Grievious.
The boys had this idea all on their own. They are both wearing gray, have a blanket for a cape, and are attached with one of Superman's belts.
As you probably know, this has been an exceptionally dry winter. (Well, for those of us East of Washington State it has.) We had a bit of snow a few weeks ago and so The Hulk and Miss Marvel went sledding in the backyard. (Spiderman was still at school.)
Yes, we're lucky enough to have a great backyard with a small hill. Miss Marvel had a blast! We built a snowman, too, but it was demolished before I got to take a picture.
