I've got some extra time on my hands today.  Both of my piano lessons cancelled for the day, and we're going to a friend's house for dinner so I don't have to cook.  And Miss Marvel is even asleep.  It would seem the universe wants me to blog today!

Too bad I haven't the faintest idea of what to talk about.  (Is ending a sentence with a proposition still a no-no? If so, I'll do a Yoda-esque revision: My my, no idea what to write about I have.)

Hmm.

I finished doing the dishes a few minutes ago.  Music is the only thing that gets me through the dishes, and as my phone was charging, I didn't turn on Pandora.  I wish I would have.  Currently, my favorite station is the Glee station.  I love hearing the Beatles, Adele, Queen and Jason M'raz back to back.  I am REALLY loving Adele lately. The soul and emotion she puts into each track is nearly palpable.  If I had a working CD player, I'd buy her latest CD.

But I don't, so I won't.  I don't even have an iTunes account.  I considered getting one in honor of Steve Jobs' passing, but decided to save for an iMinivan instead.

Speaking of music, have you heard Lady Gaga's newest song?  Be advised: I'm only linking for the truly curious and "mature" eyes out there.  Honestly, I suggest opening the link to hear the song but skipping the video all together.  I guess I am getting old, because "I just don't get music these days!"

The first time I heard the song, I couldn't figure out who the artist was. The song has a definite "country" feel.  Was it Carrie Underwood? Did Shania Twain decide to make a come back?  Why was this country song playing on my Top 40 station?

And who was singing about "my Utah kind of life?"

I was utterly puzzled.  I listened to the whole thing, waiting to hear the title and artist at the end of the song.  I was shocked beyond belief to hear that LADY GAGA was the artist. Seriously? Lady Gaga singing about a "Utah kind of life?"  Call me crazy, but Utah doesn't really seem like Lady Gaga's kind of place.

I was so flabbergasted that I got on the computer and searched out the song.  I of course went to YouTube to see the video.  The video shocked me even more.  My best guess is that she wanted to reference the creepiness of the Children of the Corn.  The video is seriously demented.  And it's completely ruined the song for me.  I think I'd like the song if I didn't have images of Lady Gaga as a bionic, scissor-hands, bloody ankles, Frankenstein angel in my head.  Not to mention the half-naked parts.  Or the parts where she's a guy.  Actually, the part with her as a guy is the least freaky.

Have you heard the song?  Have you seen the video?  Are you as disturbed by it as I am?

Well, my time is up.

What music are you listening to or loving or hating right now?
