Random Friday

Miss Marvel is walking. She walks about 75% of the time now.

She's also only about 16 pounds at 10 mos. She looks like a Baby Alive walking around.

I've gone to Zumba 3 times now and can't get enough. I'm not a fan of workout videos, but I might give it a try for Zumba, rather than pay $4 every time I get the itch.

My ward has started a twice/week workout class. I love getting more exercise, even if most of the people there are over 65. (My new neighborhood is very well established.)

Today is my first "normal" day since the week before Christmas. The kids were out of school a full week before Christmas, then my mom and younger brother came and stayed until yesterday. It was fun having them here as extra babysitters and people to run around with. Back to reality today.

The Hulk has learned to count in Spanish. I often hear him around the house counting, "Uno dos, tres. Cuatro, cinco seis!" His favorite number is ocho. He may or may not watch a lot of Dora the Explorer.

His other new thing is "Punch yourself in the face." I'll ask him if he wants a snack and he says, "Yes. Punch yourself in the face." He says it very matter-of-factly. The kids cracks me up.

Spiderman is reading. He's in kindergarten and he's sounding out words, doing simple math, and mastering patterns. For his homework the other night, he wrote a story about something you do in the winter time.

Is it just me, or is kindergarten much further advanced than when we were kids?!

I got a haircut the other day. I love it. It comes just past my shoulders now and is a little shorter in the back. Superman misses the long hair, but kept it long for 5 years. Now that I have a Chi, I can do short hair without it being poofy. I'll take a picture.....someday. Someday when I don't have a zit on my chin and can squeeze out a half-decent picture.

I made resolutions (but I'm just calling them 'goals') for the new year. Maybe I'll do a post about them.

Sex and the City (the show) is playing on Vh1 right now. I am SSOOOOO Charlotte. 110%. Who are you?

Kindergarten has gotten harder just since I become a mom. A friend of mine used to teach first grade, quit when she had kids, and by the time her oldest hit kindergarten, he was learning stuff she had been teaching for first graders. And it keeps going up!

ALL your kids are working on the same things my kids are working on. Piper and Thad are speaking in spanish. They may or may not watch Dora too! That and their daddy speaks spanish so that helps. Piper mastered patterns and basic math and is learning to read also. We don't have much else to do in the winter here! Although Aubrey is moving quite faster than Odi. Odi will walk somewhere if you hold her hand, but she WILL NOT walk on her own. She just started crawling about a month ago!! I can't wait to come out and see you all in April!!!!!!!

Your kids are adorable. That is so fun! Once they start walking, I think it actually gets a little bit easier.

I wanted to go to Zumba last night so badly, but my babysitter/husband was delayed working with his dad. *sigh* Shoot again for next week.

I have Carrie's paranoia (and like to think I'm a writer :), Samantha's sex drive, Miranda's sarcasm, and the rest is all Charlotte. In fact, I've gotta go and finish frosting my cake.

See u soon!

I can't believe she's grown so fast! Sounds like you're moving forward as fast as a Mom of 3 little ones can! Congrats on the workout thing. I also think Zumba is fun but I'm too cheap to pay for it (unless it were part of a regular gym membership).

I just can't believe how fast the kidlets grow up. I also had a little tiny girl walk really early. (Noelle) She was so cute, but it did look kinda wild...
Hope you all had a really Merry Christmas!

You said zit and squeeze out in the same sentence. That was funny. And my baby is 23 pounds and just barely learned to crawl! And I think they are the same age?

Walking AND 16 pounds at 10 months! Wow! Kaitlyn is 7 1/2 months, and weighs 18 pounds. And she still isn't even crawling. Which, of course, means my biceps are getting HUGE. :)

I should think about trying something like Zumba. But I don't even want to think about it. Sigh.

My son's teacher told the class that an assignment was due "manana." His friend Tyler asked, "What does that mean?" She said it means tomorrow. He said, "Sorry, I don't watch Dora."

I really want to try Zumba! I don't even know what it is, but it sounds so cool. I'm totally jealous that your ward has a weekly workout group. That's awesome!

Sex and the City is my favorite. I'm a total mix between Charlotte and Carrie. Don't relate at all to Miranda or Samantha, even though Miranda's character really grows on me throughout the show.
