Can you tell the difference?

(For the record: Yes, we're in the new house. Yes, it's marvy. Yes, miracles occured to get us in here. Yes, I have pictures. No, I can't find the cord that uploads pics to the computer even though I specifically remember pulling it out to use. Yes, I apologize to all the people {family members} dying to see pictures. No, I probably won't find it anytime soon.)

Whew.

Now that that's out of the way, I've got a question for you.

Can you tell the difference between the whisperings of the Spirit and intuition?

A few examples for you:

(1) About a month ago, I was packing my bag for church and thought that maybe I should pack extra pants for the Hulk. I decided against it because my bag was already overflowing and it had been 4 months since he'd had an accident at church.

He had an accident at church that day. I had to drive him home to get new clothes.

(2) Last Sunday, I was dressing Miss Marvel for church in a brand new outfit. I thought about packing another churchy outfit (seeing a theme here?), but decided that the extra romper already in the diaper bag was sufficient.

It wasn't. She exploded out of her diaper 30 minutes into church. Yes, I had a spare outfit, but it wasn't nearly cute enough.

(3) Yesterday I was driving home from IKEA (OHMYGOSH I FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVE THAT STORE) and considered taking the exit just before the one closest to our house to avoid potential traffic congestion. I decided against it, thinking that it probably wouldn't actually save me much time. We were 5 minutes away and I saw no signs of abnormal congestion.

Just after said exit, traffic halted to a stop. An accident had just occured and what should've been a 3-minute drive turned into a 15-minute one.

So. Those all seem like pretty small things. Was it my motherly intuition telling me to take extra clothes? Or the Spirit? And what about the alternate route? I totally believe the Spirit could tell me stuff like that, it just .......... seems ......... unlikely. Like, it surprises me that such small and relatively insignificant things would be on his priority list.

What do you think?
The Spirit? Voice of experience?
Have you ever had similar experiences?

Holy War

It's official. Our new house has been christened with it's first fight.

Our old house was small enough that if Spiderman and the Hulk started to fight, I would hear it and stop it before it escalated. New house isn't that small.

Last night we were downstairs with friends and the boys were supposedly in bed. I went up to put Miss Marvel asleep and heard sounds of a scuffle.

I ran into the boys' room to find Spiderman on top of the Hulk, hitting him.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!!" I yelled, pulling him off his brother and putting him in my bedroom.

I quickly put Miss Marvel to bed then got the story from the boys.

"Why were you hitting the Hulk?"
"Because he hit me!"
"Why were you hitting Spiderman?"
"Because he hit me first!"

"What were you talking about?" I asked, realizing the former line of questioning would get me no where.

"The Hulk was talking about dying and I didn't want him to!"

"Hulk, why did you keep talking about dying? You know Spiderman doesn't like that."

"I was talking about Jesus dying," the Hulk replied.

"He was saying that Jesus wants us to die forever and I don't want to die forever!" Spiderman cried.

"Well, Spiderman, even after we die, we get resurrected. Jesus doesn't want us to die forever, and we won't! Isn't that great!"

"But I don't wanna DIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Spiderman sobbed.

"I was just saying that Jesus died because he loves us," the Hulk explained.

"So you were saying that Jesus died because he loves us and Spiderman didn't want you to talk about dying? Is that why you were fighting?"

"Yes," they replied.

"Well, it makes Jesus sad when we fight. Say sorry and hug each other."

Seriously.

My boys were fighting (to the point that the Hulk had a bit of a bloody nose) because Jesus died.

Please tell me it's not just the aMayzing household that has episodes like this.

Oh, happy day!

We did it. We finally closed on the house. It was a long road filled with bumps and potholes and road blocks and detours, but we made it. Someday I'll share the saga with you, but today is not that day.

Today is registering Spiderman for kindergarten, setting up utilities, possibly IKEA and packing the essentials that we've left out. Also searching KSL for steals. (We're in the market for a new computer desk, metal bed frame, trundle, couch and hall table.)

Tomorrow is painting.

Friday is painting and packing.

Saturday is moving.

Sunday is a new ward.

Next week will be completion of the move and new piano. Then I'll be cleaning this house, prepping it for renters. I also need to find a preschool for The Hulk and unpack the new house.

It'll be crazy, but I'm so excited.

I'll catch you on the flip side of all that!

Inquiring minds want to know......

Who is your cable/internet provider?

Are you happy with them?

Who would you recommend?

Trying to figure out what we're going to do at the new house. We don't need a sports package (thank goodness) but we do need a DVR.

Thoughts?
