1 year

(inspired by Shellie)

If I had a year left to live I would ......

Vacation in Europe with Superman. We'd see the fields of green and castles in Ireland. We'd hit Rome and Venice in Italy. The Eiffel Tower in France. We'd go to Germany, Spain, Greece.....I'd wanna see it all. Might as well go to Israel while we're there.

Move back to Kansas (near the fam.)

Be part of the community musical theater program. I'd ask for the lead role, since I'm dying and all.

Start family traditions. Pancakes every Saturday. Stories, singing and cuddle time every night. Regular Family Home Evening. Friday movie nights/camping in the living room. MEMORIES.

Make a million home movies of all that stuff.

Bear my testimony every fast Sunday so my children would remember me testifying of Christ.

Take a road trip with my sisters-in-law. Probably to Forks. Then Port Angeles since that's where all the shopping is. We'd do some serious shopping.

Roll on the highway after midnight with Kelli. (We did it as teenagers.)

Climb the water tower in Mayfield, KS. Play truth or dare.

Have a weekend sleepover with my SILs, mom and MIL. Watch Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, and Glee. Lots of pizza and popcorn and Diet Dr. Pepper and Red Vines and Junior Mints.

Go hand-gliding.

Go bungee-jumping.

Karaoke.

Go to a taping of The Colbert Report. And Ellen.

See a good show on Broadway in New York.

Go to an American Idol finale.

Try out for American Idol. Why not?

Teach my younger brother what women want -- then tell him to STAY AWAY till he's at least 21.

Eat out a lot. Olive Garden and Chili's come to mind. And Tucanos. Definitely Tucanos.

Go to Disneyland as a family. Off season, for at least a week. I've never been. (How sad is that?!)

Go to the beach.

Eat chocolate every day. (I do that now and probably only have a year left to live because of it.)

There's more, but that's pretty comprehensive. Feel free to play along. Or just tell me something that'd be on your list.

Wow! That is quite the list. I love that you would go to Forks :)

Sounds like a lot of good ideas if you ask me. And I am right there with you on the chocolate thing.

I would definitely quit my job and spend as much time with family and friends, as possible. I would also travel a lot.

That is an excellent list, and I think that there are quite a few on there that you can start today! :)

I nominate visiting Austria while you're in the vicinity. I love that place with all my heart.

go do these things! I fall short mostly because of slothfulness but for the past two years this is what I have been doing. Living as if I would die. I had a horrible premonition that I would die at 40. and it has been all about family. If my family could join me on trips we would go but I really just want them to be with me and enjoy life with me. I have written my testimony in each of their scriptures. I want them to know my voice, so I do have to get in front of the camera, or video camera more often! Whether we have 20 years or 96 years we should live well. the question of the day is who's life shall I bless today?

I am ALL for the trip to Forks! Do we have to be dying though to go???

You've never been to Disneyland? Girl, schedule a trip ASAP and do it. You won't regret it.

I spent several years in Anti-Disney clutches, notably when we lived a convenient 1 hour from the place. Now that we have kids, my heart has softened. And we try and go as often as possible.

PS: Pass the chocolate.

So what's keeping you from doing all of this???

That's quite a bucket list. Maybe you should start now so you can get it all in before you leave this world.

Think of your eulogy, it would be amazing!

I would MOVE to Disneyland... I can't believe you've never been there... oh goodness how I love that happy place.

But in all seriousness, I would spend all the money I've saved that is just sitting around serving no purpose... and I would tell someone how I really felt about them... *sigh*...

Fun idea for a post, even if I got sad at the thought of you only having a year left.

I do waffles every Sat. morning and chocolate every day as it is. I'll have to think about my list, and play along.

Such fun to read. I hope you get to do some of these things. I'm going to do a bunch when I'm dead and money (the lack of it) is no longer a hindrance. And I want to see Jusus as a baby and a toddler and as a gronw up man so I hope time travel is good too.
