We gave potty-training another go this week. I had the Hulk sitting on the potty and he said, "It's not working!" meaning his body wasn't doing it. I told him that I knew it was working, and just to push. "It's not working! I want some jello." I told him if he went potty he could have some jello. And you know what the stinker did? Pushed and produced. Pronto. A little pellet. (TMI? Sorry.)
He peed 2 more times in the potty. Yay! Got two more bowls of jello. In the 3 hours we were trying, he also wet through two sets of underwear and peed in the kitchen, living room, and bedroom. So it was somewhat successful. I'll let you know how take 3 goes.....whenever it happens.

I've pretty much decided to not do pre-K for Spiderman next year. I really, really appreciate all your input on that. I talked to his teachers today just to make sure he was doing okay. They said he's a great kid and a good student. Sits there and listens and follows instructions, and a peacemaker. He's not one to start fights or get involved in them. I think he's going to be just fine not doing it next year. He'll have plenty of opportunites to practice sitting quietly and listening and following instructions in the library class. (I'm also thinking about talking to some friends who do a joy school.)

Next Thursday is our Enrichment activity. I'm planning a small musical presentation for it -- remember this incredible story? I've got sisters lined up to sing a few songs. About a week ago while I was singing the songs just around the house, I had some ideas pop into my head. I couldn't even finish the song because I was overcome with so much emotion. (I know it was the Spirit.)
One of the songs is by Cherie Call, called "She." (It's a beautiful song. If you really want to hear, click over to my scripture blog. It's on the playlist.) It's basically talking about how the everyday woman is beautiful, as compared to actresses and model that we see all the time. And it occurred to me that we need to have pictures of the women in our ward in a slideshow while I sing this song.
Another song is essentially the poem "My Three White Dresses" put to music. (What Heaven Sees in You) I hadn't even planned on singing this song originally, but then I realized that it's a mother/daughter activity. We are going to have lots of young women and girls there. And I knew we had to sing it. And singing it the other day, I knew we needed pictures of women and/or their daughters in blessing, baptism, and wedding day attire.
I sent out e-mails a week ago, asking for pictures. I sent another one last night. So far, I have pictures from 3 women. Not quite enough for a slideshow. I'm really hoping that we get more. I know this would make these songs even more powerful. I just hope we can make it happen. We're defiantely getting down to the wire.

we watched that beginning of the office with the knock knock jokes about 10 times.
and good job Hulk! I think that is awesome.
and I think the "She" song is awesome it will look really cool set to a slideshow.
I love the song "What heaven see's in you." Love it. Even thinking about it chokes me up. I don't think I've heard "She" I'll have to click over and give a listen.
Good luck with getting the pictures.
And your knock knock joke? One of my oldest sons favorites.
I hope you get a ton more pictures.
thanks for playing.
i love Cherie Call...
of course I would.. with a last name like hers WHO WOULDN'T LOVE HER?!!?!? plus her music is awesome :)
good luck with the potty training!
It sounds like a beautiful and moving idea to have the slide show to the song. I think the impact would be worth the trouble of making some phone calls and applying some pressure- especially to those who you think are likely to have digital images they could e-mail.
Oh- and a quick brag- I am SO done with the potty training phase! Woo Hoo! I've been missing the little kid stage now that mine are older but that part of your post just reminded me of the good parts of being over that phase! LOL!
The knock knock jokes on The Office were fabulous. I especially loved it when they switched to ding dong jokes.
Oh! Is the knock-knock joke going to be a regular feature? I loved it. Totally made me laugh.
Also adore the blog revamp, as well as the super cute profile pic of you in your sidebar. Wonder woman has been revealed. I can finally see the woman behind the mask!
You and your family are lovely.

the office was WONDERFUL! i'm glad that your dog incident blew over, i'm hoping mine will, too! they still haven't called me back so i guess only time will tell!
Ha ha! Peter says that too: "It doesn't work."
She's has taken to holding it for hours, and gets constipated. Poor thing. We had a little chat about it just last night. She was sitting on the potty, in pain, because she couldn't get it out, and I told her this wouldn't happen if she would just go when I ask her to. But at least she doesn't have accidents.
Loved loved loved this week's Office so much! I had to watch it 3 times.
